Woman ministers in the Nitish Kumar government, Renu Kumari and Praveen Amanullah, are personally supervising open kitchens preparing food for rallyist 'guests', with tents set up with bed rolls for the rallyists.

"I have made food and lodging arrangements for about 15,000 people coming for the Adhikar rally," Renu Kumari, the Minister for Industries told PTI.

She said she has hired 100 cooks and assistants for preparing the food.

"I served herbal tea to over 4000 rallyists this morning who have already arrived at my bungalow," Bhim Singh, the Rural Development minister said.

The menu prepared by Singh, who switched over to JD(U) from Lalu Prasad's RJD, is puri, vegetables, pickles and papad.

Food and Civil Supplies minister Shyam Razak, has made food arrangements at Phulwarisharif, his constituency on the Patna outskirts.

Arrangements could also been seen at the ministerial bungalows of Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, P K Shahi, Bijendra Yadav and Narendra Narayan Yadav, with their wives supervising the arrangements.

JD(U) Chief Whip Shrawan Kumar said he hired 60 cooks to prepare rice, dal, vegetables and salad for the people from his Nalanda constituency.

JD(U) strongman and MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh has made arrangements for food for over one lakh people at the Mall built by him in the heart of the state capital.

Sources in the Danapur Railway Division said seven trains have been booked by JD(U) parliamentarians and leaders to people from across the state to the rally aimed at demanding special status for Bihar.

The trains booked for Rs 9 lakh each would have limited stops as per directives of persons who booked them, the sources said.

Arrangements have been made to halt them at the Patna junction, Danapur and Rajendranagar terminals so that other train services were not disturbed, they added.
