On the occasion, Singh said that the step taken by Haryana government was not only a matter of pride at the national-level but it was lauded outside the country as British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) showed news on it this morning.
Referring to Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon, the Union Minister said that this women police station is "a large step towards social harmony."
He hoped that this police station would help in reducing incidents of crime against women in Gurgaon. "Gurgaon is world famous city which contributes largest share in the revenue of the state," he said.
He said that Community Policing Centre would also be set up here where the women would be trained in self defence.
"It will also house Women RAF Center having 50 members," he said, adding that it will be a sort of "one stop shop" and function like a "single window" for the women folk.
According to Virk,"It will be a choice of the woman complainant whether she wants to lodge her complaint in the nearby police station or in this police station.
