Forest official mauled to death by tiger

Assistant Forester Gheesa Ram was monitoring repairing of a passage inside the park when the incident occurred, SP Param Jyoti, said.

"He was standing near the passage this noon when the tiger attacked and dragged him to bushes," she said.

Labourers and other forest personnel present there informed the forest officials and police about the incident, after which a team was rushed to the spot, she said.

The body was later recovered around 15 metres away from the place where he was attacked, she said, adding, that the body has been shifted to a mortuary.
