The house of Justice Pattanaik, who served as the Chief Justice of India for a brief period in 2002, is situated in Sector 11 of Abhinav Bidanasi.
A vacation bench of the Orissa High Court had earlier this month refrained from giving any opinion about law and order in the state.
"I am not satisfied with the present law and order situation in the city and since the state government is not providing us any protection, I am planning to depute private armed security guards at my house," said the 78-year-old retired judge.
While the robbery in the house of former High Court judge has been investigated with the recovery of parts of stolen items and cash, the police is still clueless about the other two incidents.
