Former minister Khadse appears before Zoting committee

Former Maharashtra Revenue Minister EknathKhadse today appeared before the Dinkar Zoting committee which is looking into the allegations of land grab against him.
"During the hearing Khadse appealed for 'recasting' of issues. We have objected to it, as all the issues, arguments and evidence have already been addressed," counsel for MIDC-Pune Chandrashekhar Jaltare told PTI.
Khadse will be questioned again tommorow, he said.
The Zoting committee was appointed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis following allegations that a plot of land of MIDC in Pune located at Bhosari was transferred in the name of Khadse's wife (Mandakini).
Khadse's role had come under suspicion as it was alleged that the case was of conflict of interest by the minister who had exercised his quasi-judicial powers to clear the land transfer.

When the facts related to the MIDC land in Pune started coming outduring the arguments,Khadsechanged his stand and claimed that he was not aware of the land transaction till June 2016, Jaltare had earlier said.
Khadse, who appeared before the Committee at Ravi Bhavan at around 12.30 PM and left around 2 PM, refused to speak anything on the land grab case and the proceedings.
However, on recent political developments after the conclusion of civic polls, Khadse expressed confidence that Mumbai will have a BJP mayor this time.
