Police in Thane arrested a former trainer for allegedly vandalising and setting fire to a gym in Anand Nagar area on Ghodbunder Road last month with the help of his accomplices, an official said on Sunday.
According to the official, the accused Yogesh Bhoir had a personal dispute with the owner of the gym where he was previously working as a trainer. He was arrested on Saturday.
The incident occurred on the intervening night of September 14 and 15. The miscreants had damaged the CCTV cameras at the gym in order to hide their identities.
Police are now trying to identify other persons involved in the incident, the official added.
