Four persons, protesting against the mysterious death of a teenage maid, were held today for throwing stones at a police party and blocking sector-17 area, police said.
A case has been registered against Balraj, Tejveer, Balle and Rahul under relevant sections of IPC, they said.
They were protesting against the death of a 14-year-old girl, who used to work as a servant at a doctor's place in sector-17. She was found dead under mysterious circumstances yesterday. Minor's family alleged that her employer was badly drunk on New Year's eve and had raped the girl and later killed her.
The aggrieved kin today blocked the dividing road of sector-17 and sector-18 of the district and kept minor's body on the road, causing traffic jam, police said.
When police party reached the spot to unblock the jam, the four persons threw stones at it, they said.
They were booked under IPC sections 147, 149, 332, 353, 186,283,341,427 police said today.
