Four booked on charges of rape attempt in UP

Four persons have been booked on the charges of attempting to rape a married woman at her house in Faridpur village of this district, police said today.
According to the complaint four persons entered the woman's house on June 19 while she was alone and tried to rape her, they said.
In her application to the court, the woman alleged that officials at Marehara police station and also the Senior Superintendent of Police refused to register her complaint.
On the direction of the court an FIR was lodged in this connection yesterday and investigation is underway, police said, adding no arrests have been made yet.
