Police today claimed to have busted a betting racket with the arrest of four bookies for allegedly wagering on a Twenty-20 cricket match played between India and England yesterday.
Police recovered 22 mobile phone handsets, a television set, 'satta' (gambling) slips and Rs 2.10 Lakh in cash during the raid conducted on a house in Manikbagh area last evening.
The suspected bookies are identified as Mohan Wadhvani, Prahlad Rupani, Mahesh Jethwani and Deepak Katariya.
According to police, the quartet had obtained SIM cards on the basis of forged documents and that they could be associated with some big racket.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on.
