Govindraj stole the limelight by setting new marks in squat, dead lift and total, while his teammate Guruwinder Singh bettered his own national record in the Bench Press section.

Results:

83 kg (Men):

1. K Govindraj (Rlys) 335 kg NR (squat), 197.50 (Bench Press), 312.50 NR (Dead Lift) and Total 845 (NR); 2. Guruwinder Singh (Rlys) 330 KG, 217.50 (NR), 295 and total 842.50; 3. Amit Kumar (IPF) 335, 197.50, 280 and total 812.50 kg. (Previous record: (Squat) Guruwinder Singh (Rlys) 325; (Bench Press) Guruwinder Singh (Rlys) 210 kg; (Dead Lift) C Krishna Kumar (Ker) 290 kg and (Total) Guruwinder Singh (Rlys) 805.

83 kg (Men) Inter-State Competition Result:1. Premnath H Kadam (Mah) 280, 185, 272.50, 737.50; 2. Vijay P (TN) 295, 157.50, 270, 722.50; 3. Akash Paigwar (MP) 245, 135, 215, 595 kg.
