The mishap occurred near Ragdha when 10 persons were returning to nearby villages Budhikhamari and Kailashchandrapur in the autorickshaw after attending a marriage feast late last night.
A pick-up van coming from the opposition direction rammed against the auto killing three of its occupants on the spot and both the vehicles skided off the road.
Two persons were taken to the district headquarters hospital in a serious condition where one of them succumbed to injuries, Betanoti sub-divisional police officer Gopinathmani Patra said.
