A four-year old child was killed and three other members of his family were injured when a concrete house collapsed in Odisha's Ganjam district, police said today.
The house collapsed at Punanda village, about 40 km from here last night when the family was sleeping inside it, the police said.
The slab of the 20-year old house may have collapsed due to the recent rains in the village leading to the tragedy, they said.
Police and block level officers rushed to the spot and hospital, where the injured have been admitted.
Rs 2000 have been provided to the parents of the deceased under Harish Chandra Yojana for cremation, the block development officer of Sheragada, Suranjan Sahu said.
