Geneva-based Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant sees India amongst its top 10 markets in the next five years as it promotes itself as a 'accessible luxury' brand in the country.
"Today, India market is among top 30 markets for us. In the next five years we expect it to figure amongst top 10 markets," Frederique Constant International Sales Manager William Besse told PTI.
"We want to position our watches as the accessible luxury products. We want to focus on this segment. Bulk of our collection is in Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh," Frederique Constant's India Representative Arun Marc D'Silva added.
Besse said the company is increasing its distribution and entering new cities like Kolkata and Jaipur.
"We are also looking at cities such as Indore, Pune and Agra. At present we have 32 points of sale in 13 cities in the country which includes three duty free stores," D'Silva said.
Price range of Frederique Constant watches in India is Rs 50,000 to Rs 2.8 lakh.
The company is also looking for right partners to sell its hi-end watches in the country.
"We do not sell our hi-end products in India. We are yet to find right partner to sell our hi-end watches. We cannot retail them from the existing channel but we are not in a rush. We want to do this the right way," Besse said.
The company today launched two new variants of its Runabout collection priced at Rs 1,70,547 each.
