Some miscreants threw paint on the statue of Vijay Singh Pathik, which was installed by the municipal corporation and unveiled on November 6 last year, sources said.
Angered by the incident, residents led by a local BJP leader blocked Loni Road near Bhopura trisection this morning, demanding the arrest of miscreants who had defaced the statue.
Following the protest, Assistant Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar reached the spot and assured the protesters of early action.
