Freight rates for select centres fall on adequate trucks

Freight rates for select centres for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today owing to easy availability of trucks in the market amid restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said comfortable position of trucks against restricted cargo movements, led to a fall in freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijaywada and Gwalior freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 52,000, Rs 54,000 and Rs 12,000.
Rates to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ludhiana also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 13,000, Rs 14,000 and Rs 17,000.
