French award for Pinki Anand

Additional Solicitor General of India Pinki Anand was today bestowed the National Order of Merit by France for her contribution to to jurisprudence and human rights.
The award was conferred on her by French Ambassador Francois Richier at a function here.
"I am honoured to have received such a great honour from the Ambasador of France on the occasion of France's national day. France and India have lot in common in terms of their democracy, human rights, equality and fraternity," she said, accepting the award.
Richier said Anand has always contributed to push important agendas in the field of corporate law and women rights.
"Her association with BJP has been long. We appreciate her outstanding contribution to jurisprudence in wide array of practice areas including human rights," he said.
French National Order of Merit instituted in 1963 is awarded for distinguished services rendered in public, civil, military posts or a private profession.
