Abolition of child labour, launching of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana, raising of maternity leave to 26 weeks for women working in the organised sector are some of the major achievements of the government, the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment told reporters here.
Dattatreya, who had participated in the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers' meet held on May 18-19 at Bad Neuenahr, Germany said the meet had lauded the policies of Narendra Modi government's Labour and Employment ministry.
Dattatreya also said he held discussions with the Labour minister of Germany as well.
"Germany evinced interest in collaborating with India in training youth with the motto of learning, earning and employment. Several other countries also showed interest in entering Memorandum of Understanding with India," he said.
Some countries are keen about the Indian EPFO investments in Exchange Traded Funds, he said.
"In the era of digital world, importance of skill development is much more. The government is considering to expand digitisation in a big way in Telangana, especially in Warangal, Zaheerabad, Ramagundam and in the surrounding areas of Hyderabad," he said.
Dattatreya also assured that he would take up the hardships of the migrated employees (particularly from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Punjab) to Gulf countries with the External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.
