Gangpur register fourth win in hockey nationals

Hockey Gangpur, Odisha thrashed Tripura 9-0 in Pool C to register their fourth consecutive win in the fourth Hockey India Senior Men National Championship, at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, here today.
Gangpur, Odisha took an early lead in the ninth minute through a field goal scored by Ashish Anmol Minz.
Ashish struck four goals in the match, while William Xalxo scored three goals and Banamali Xess and Roshan Minz scored one goal each.
Hockey Gangpur, Odisha is heading the pool table with 12 points from four matches.
Earlier, N Sellamuthu struck three goals to give Puducherry their first win in the championship when they beat Assam 11-1 in another Pool C league match.

Other scorers for Puducherry were M Harikrishnan and N Kamalakannan, who scored two goals each while R Aravindn, S Sivaganesh, V Karthikeyan and G Senthilkumar contributed a goal each. Vinod Kumar Mishra scored Assam's lone goal.

In Pool D, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) defeated Kerala 2-1.
Nimhas Khokha and Amaritvir Singh struck one goal each for CRPF, while Joshan George scored the only goal for Kerala.
