The 47-tear-old actor will appear as a part of the crew of men, who travel across difficult terrain to deliver a mysterious package, but circumstances force them to make a choice between survival and honour, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will be helmed by debutante director Darrin Prescott.
The story of the project, stemmed from a script penned by Pat Healy, was featured on the 2006 version of the Blacklist.
Butler is currently filming STX's heist thriller "Den of Thieves", alongside Pablo Schreiber, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and O'Shea Jackson.
