Sahibabad resident Shaukeen and four of his friends had gone to Yamuna river bank for picnic and swimming on Saturday, SHO Tronica City Sheelesh Yadav said.
Shaukeen jumped into the river for swimming but was washed away in the gushing waters. His friends raised an alarm and informed the police.
Police from Tronica City and Delhi's Burari reached the spot and a search operation was launched.
