GIC Housing Finance net up 15% at Rs 34 crore in Jul-Sep

GIC Housing Finance has reported an increase of 15.4 per cent in net profit at Rs 34.37 crore in the second quarter ended September 2016.
Company's net profit stood at Rs 29.79 crore in the corresponding July-September quarter of previous fiscal 2015-16.
Total income rose to Rs 247.17 crore during the quarter, from Rs 215.55 crore of the same period in the previous fiscal, it said in a regulatory filing.
Assets of the company, as on September 30, 2016 were at Rs 8,726.41 crore.
GIC Housing's main business is to provide loans for the purchase or construction of residential units.
Stock of the company today closed 0.65 per cent down at Rs 337.95 on BSE.
