A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the adjoining Mahoba district by her neighbour, police said on Friday.
The girl was alone in the house on November 21 when the neighbour, Rahul Paswan (22), allegedly raped her, Inspector Abhimanyu Singh Yadav said.
The accused had threatened her with dire consequences but she narrated her ordeal to her family on Thursday when the neighbour asked her to meet at a secluded place, Yadav said.
On the basis of the family's complaint, an FIR was lodged on Thursday night and efforts are on to nab the accused, police said.
Yadav added that the girl was being sent for medical examination.
