RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) today burnt the effigies of Madhya Pradesh Finance and Industries ministers in protest against the invitation to Chinese companies for Global Investors Summit to be held on October 22-23 here.
The SJM workers set afire the effigies of MP Finance Minister Jayant Mallaiya and Industries Minister Rajendra Shukla at the historic Rajbada in the city.
"We are totally against inviting Chinese representatives for the Global Investors Summit (GIS) as China is continuously extending financial support to Pakistan which is involved in anti-India activities," Coordinator of SJM Indore-Ujjain Division, Suresh Bijolia said.
Terming China as an "anti-India country", he demanded that no Chinese company should be allotted even an inch of land for setting up any industry in the state.
Meanwhile, Mallaiya had clarified on October 15 that since invitation to Chinese representatives was sent quite earlier, it is not wise to prevent them from taking part in the GIS at the last moment.
Shukla, too, in his statement on October 10 had said, "In our country only those Chinese goods are opposed which are made in China. But if a company of that nation sets up its plant here then it will not only generate employment for the people but also earn revenue for the state.
