Responding to a question that the eight-seater Global Vectra had withdrawn due to non-payment of huge outstanding bills while the Naharlagun-Guwahati-Tawang helicopter service had been discontinued long back, Tashi clarified that things take time at the government level and the helicopter service, subsidised by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has to pass through lot of official formalities.
"Once the tender is accepted, the service provider has to be okayed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Director General of Civil Aviation for it to operate in the state. The agreement between Global Vectra and the state government had also expired," he said.
