"It is a proud moment for Indian cinema as for the first time in the history, a villain has been given Dadasaheb Phalke award," BJP legislator Vishnu Surya Wagh said, moving the congratulatory motion for the star of yesteryears who has acted in 350 films.
The legislator said that Pran had joined the film industry nurturing an ambition to play lead roles, but ended up being the best villain.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane also supported the motion.
