Goan I-League clubs have chosen to play their first three matches of the second leg at Tilak Maidan in Vasco rather than Nehru Stadium in Fatorda as they feel that the turf at the refurbished stadium is not up to the mark.
"The coaches of the I-League clubs, who visited the newly refurbished Nehru Stadium which hosted the Lusofonia Games 2014, have found the turf not in good shape and feel that it still need some time to be in top shape.
"They have opted to have their first three matches at Tilak Stadium, Vasco", Goa Football Association secretary Adlear D'Cruz said, adding that the decision on remaining matches will be taken after inspecting the stadium tomorrow.
The I-League resumes in Goa on February 11 with Churchill Brothers taking on Rangdajied United FC. The other two matches at Vasco will be Dempo Sports Club V/s Rangdajied United FC on February 15 and Salgaocar FC v/s Mohun Bagan the next day.
