Gogoi orders inquiry into allotment of land in Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today ordered an inquiry into the allotment/settlement of land in Guwahati Metropolitan area, particularly on wetlands and water bodies.
Gogoi directed state Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla to ensure the conduct of the inquiry by retired IAS officer, Bhaskar Barua, an official release said.
The terms of reference of the inquiry would be to identify the officials involved in illegal and arbitrary allotment/settlement of land in Guwahati metropolitan area, the release added.
