'Vision Assam 2030 - Everything for Everyone - Achieving Inclusive and Sustainable Development' envisions a "transformed future" for the people of Assam free from all forms of deprivation, inequities and insecurity within the next 15 years, he said.
With the unveiling of the document, Assam has become the first state to have a vision document on sustainable development goals, he said.
Speaking on the occasion here, Gogoi said that drawing up a development vision wherein the people of Assam become stakeholders and participate in the state's progress has been one of the long-standing goals of his government.
"Though there are problems, we need to find remedies to realise an Assam where inclusive and sustainable development become the crux of society," Gogoi said.
Economist Jeffrey Sachs, while interacting with the chief minister via Skype from New York, lauded the state government for coming up with a framework for realising its sustainable development goals.
