Gold worth Rs 2.45 cr seized, 2 Lankan nationals detained

Seven kilos of undeclared gold biscuits worth Rs 2.45 crore were seized and two Sri Lankan nationals who arrived at the airport here from Singapore were detained in this connection today.
Based on a tip off, officials of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) detained Mohammed Jameel and Mohammed Marsukh, who arrived by different flights, after they found them carrying the gold, police said.
After interrogation and thorough checks, it was revealed that they were Sri Lankan nationals and gold biscuits weighing seven kilos was seized from the duo.
