Gold worth Rs 20 lakh seized at airport, one held

Gold, weighing 697 gm and worth nearly Rs 20 lakh, has been seized from a passenger at Mangaluru International Airport, Customs sources said today.

Mohsin Abubakar, who was arrested, arrived here from Dubai by an Air-India flight this morning, they said, adding, he hails from Kasaragod in Kerala.

He was detained for a check on suspicion, the sources said.

The check yielded the gold which was concealed in a salad-making machine and a portable CD player, they added.
