Talking to reporters, he said that the government has allocated Rs 524 crore for infrastructure development in all the government hospitals in the state.
The hospitals here would be soon upgraded, he said, adding, that the work to install MRI and CT scans at a cost of Rs 2 crore are in progress.
About 6.92 lakh people were benefited under the Chief Minister's Insurance Scheme for which the government has already paid Rs 1,479 crore to various hospitals. Nearly 2.69 lakh people have undergone treatment, including major surgeries, in government hospitals in the state this year, he said.
The state government has come out with the 104 helpline, by which people can get complete information on healthcare and counselling on diseases, he said.
