Govt to help judiciary deliver instant and impartial justice: UP CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said the rule of law was the soul of every civilised society, and in order to deliver instant and impartial justice, the state government would extend all possible help to the judiciary.
Addressing the 41st conference of the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Services Association here, the chief minister said, "Judiciary is an extremely powerful pillar of the democracy. Rule of law is the soul of every civilised society. The state government is committed to strengthen judiciary and in order to deliver instant and impartial justice, the state government will extend every possible help to the judiciary."
Adityanath voiced his support to the half-an-hour increase in judicial work as stated by Allahabad High Court Chief Justice DB Bhosale.
The chief minister stated that by cancelling 15 holidays, there had been a Rs 50,000 crore jump in the state's GDP, and said that the increase in judicial work would prove to be quite effective.
The UP chief minister said the state government had taken a number of steps to strengthen the judiciary. "Under this, 111 additional family courts, 13 bhu-arjan (land acquisition) courts, 13 commercial courts and special courts for women have been established. New 24 local lok adalats have also been constituted," he said in a statement issued here today.
Adityanath on this occasion also declared that Rs 10 crore be given to the UP Nyayik Adhijari Kalyan Kosh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice Bhosale said, "Nearly 60 lakh pending cases in the subordinate courts is a challenge. To successfully deal with them, effective implementation of decisions pertaining to increase in court's time and mediation is necessary.
