Hit TV producer/director Greg Berlanti will direct the reboot of "Little Shop of Horrors".
The original 1960 Roger Corman film was turned into a theatre musical by composer Alan Menken and Howard Ashman in 1982, when it premiered Off-Broadway, and was subsequently adapted for the big screen by director Frank Oz in 1986.
Now studio bosses at Warner Bros are moving forward with a reboot, and they have tapped Berlanti, who has produced hit series "Arrow", "The Flash", and "Supergirl", to direct from a script by The Invention of Lying screenwriter Matthew Robinson, reported TheWrap.
"Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt had also been rumoured to star in the film.
Marc Platt, who is currently tasting success with the critically-acclaimed "La La Land", will produce the project.
"Little Shop of Horrors follows a florist's assistant who grows a flesh-eating plant.
The Frank Oz version became a cult classic, starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, and Levi Stubbs. Bill Murray, James Belushi, John Candy, and Christopher Guest also made appearances in the horror movie musical.
