The deceased has been identified as Niroti Lal Garg, aged 60 years. He engaged in business of grocery items and had a big shop in the Lal Bazar, they said.
The exact amount of cash and jewellery stolen by the robbers yesterday was yet go be ascertained, police said, adding, the body has been sent for postmortem, while a forensic experts team was called in to investigate the case.
The robbers entered Garg's house after breaking in while he was sleeping alone in his room last night, they said, adding, other family members were seeping in other rooms.
