Guar seed futures extend gains by Rs 84 per quintal

Guar seed prices registered further gains of Rs 84 per quintal in futures trade today on enlarging of holdings by the speculators in tune with upbeat physical market sentiment.

Marketmen said investors were raising bets in line with the positive trend in the spot markets, which kept guar seed futures prices up for the second day today.

Moreover, steady gains in Guar gum prices due to robust export demand, also gave a push to the Guar seed futures prices, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guar seed delivery for the second contract November month hardened by Rs 84 or 1.91 per cent to Rs 4,472 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,720 lots.

Meanwhile, the delivery for the most traded October month shot up by Rs 80.50 or 1.85 per cent to Rs 4,435 per quintal, with a business turnover of 1,11,910 lots.
