Guargum prices fell 2.77 per cent to Rs 14,380 per quintal in futures trading today after participants trimmed positions amid weak global cues.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 410, or 2.77 per cent, to Rs 14,380 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,868 lots.
The most-active August contracts slipped Rs 320, or 2.26 per cent, to Rs 13,820 per quintal with an open interest of 7,557 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by speculators on weak cues from global markets and slackness in demand from domestic consuming industries weighed on guargum prices at futures trade.
