Guargum futures up as speculators enlarge position

Guargum prices strengthened by Rs 240 to Rs 19,990 per quintal in futures trading today on the back of a firming trend at spot markets amid positive global cues.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum prices for February month delivery surged by Rs 240, or 2.23 per cent to Rs 10,990 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,651 lots.
Also, guargum for January month contract rose by Rs.200, or 1.88 per cent to Rs 10,850 per quintal, having an open interest of 900 lots.
Analysts said apart from firming trend at spot markets, positive global cues mainly influenced guargum prices at futures trade here.
