Four persons were held from Chandkheda area in Ahmedabad with demonetised currency notes with a face value of Rs 99.99 lakh, police said today.
A Chandkheda police station official said that 12,800 demonetised notes of Rs 500 denomination and 3,599 scrapped notes of Rs 1000 denomination, totalling Rs 99.99 lakh, were seized from Manjula Barot, Malhar Purohit, Rajesh Parmar and Gopal Pandey.
All four are local residents and were nabbed from near a mall at Chandkheda crossroad yesterday night, the official said.
Primary investigations have revealed that they were looking to exchange it for a commission, he said.
A case had been registered and further investigations were underway, he added.
