Gujarat BJP to elect state president on Feb 19

Putting an end to speculations, Gujarat BJP today announced the party will get its new state president on February 19.
As per the schedule released by the party today, candidates can file their nomination between 11 AM and 12 noon on that day, while the announcement of new president will be made at 12.39 PM, which the party is 'Vijay Muhurt' (auspicious time).
"Polling will be needed if more than one person file nomination. Otherwise, we'll announce our new party president at 12.39 PM," state BJP spokesperson I K Jadeja said.
The announcement will be made in the presence dignitaries including Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, state BJP in-charge Dinesh Sharma and party incumbent state president R C Faldu among others, the release stated.

BJP MP from Rajasthan Arjun Meghwal has been appointed by the party high command as election observer.
If the election is held, 135 voters will take part in the polling, including state MLAs, MPs and office-bearers of various district and talukas of Gujarat, the release said.
