It was a dream come true for 26 students, hailing from remote areas in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, when they met Bollywood icon Salman Khan in Mumbai.
The students and two teachers of Gujjar and Bakerwal communities interacted with their favourite star yesterday at his residence, a defence spokesman said here today.
The students and teachers were on a 10-day educational and motivational tour to Mumbai and Pune, organised by the Rashtriya Rifles, he said.
The students said they were greatly thrilled after meeting their favourite cine star, according to the defence spokesman.
"It was a dream come true for us," a student who got his photograph clicked with the Bollywood celebrity said.
"The tour to Mumbai is turning out to be one which we are bound to remember for the rest of our lives," another student said.
The students also visited Naval and Air Force Base in Mumbai and were greatly excited when they saw aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
The youngsters during their two-day stay in Mumbai also visited Haji Ali Dargah, Gateway of India and Planetarium besides going to the Juhu beach, Marine Drive and Fashion Street, the spokesman said.
"From Mumbai, these children will go to the education hub of the country, Pune, also called the 'Oxford of the East'," he said.
