Gunmen attack journalist in Assam

The secretary of Kokrajhar Press Club, Dhananjoy Rai, was attacked by gunmen in Assam's Kokrajhar town tonight, police sources said.
Four gunmen stopped Rai at Kotiapara area when he was returning home from his work on his bike and hit him on his head with the butt of a pistol, the sources said.
The journalist received injuries on his head and was admitted to hospital where he was declared out of danger.
Several journalists, students and civic organisations have condemned the attack on Rai.
