Gur prices remain steady on little demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Steady conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital following muted demand amid increased supplies.
A similar trend depicted in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets.
Marketmen said negligible demand due to off-season, along with increased arrivals mainly kept gur prices at last levels.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,900-4,000, pedi Rs 4,000-4,100, dhayya Rs 4,100-4,200 and shakkar Rs 4,200-4,300.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 3,400-3,450, chakku Rs 3,425-3,500, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,700-3,800 and dhayya Rs 3,150-3,175.
