Gur prices relentlessly enquired on previous closing levels at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following sporadic buying amid restricted supply.
On the other hand, Muzaffarnagar gur market showed a rise of up to Rs 100 per quintal on paucity of stocks.
Marketmen said, scarcity of stocks following restricted arrivals from manufacturing belts in view of adverse weather conditions as well as speculative buying by stockists and retailers pushed up gur prices particularly in Muzaffarnagar.
Gur prices in Delhi and Muradnagar remained unaltered on small buying support, they added.
In Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa prices shot up by Rs 150 to finish at Rs 2,900-2,950, while gur Chakku prices spurted by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,900-3,100 per quintal.
Gur Laddoo prices also rose from Rs 3,000-3,100 to conclude at Rs 3,100-3,150, showing a rise up to Rs 100 per quintal.
