Gur prices up on paucity of stocks

Gur prices improved up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight stocks against strong demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also settled higher by Rs 50 per quintal on negligible arrivals.
Marketmen said besides scarcity of stocks, better offtake mainly pushed up gur prices in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar.
In Delhi, gur Dhayya rose Rs 100 to Rs 3,000-3,100, while Pedi gained Rs 50 at Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Raskat prices enquired higher by Rs 50 at Rs 2,700-2,750 per quital, on strong beer makers demand.
In Muradnagar, gur pedi improved by Rs 50 at Rs 2,650-2,700 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,700-2,750, chakku Rs 2,350-2,550, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs N.T.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2,700 and dhayya Rs NT.
