Earlier, Madhya Pradesh government had also waived entertainment tax on the film.
"The decision has been taken following recommendation of Chhattisgarh Film Advisory Board. Notification in this regard has been issued," said Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Public Relation Department.
The Mohit Suri-directed film portrays struggle of a middle-class woman in taking on adverse situation and the challenges encouraging the women empowerment, he added.
The movie also has a mention of Chhattisgarh and Bastar.
Balan and Mahesh Bhatt, producer of the film, had visited the state last week and requested chief minister Raman Singh for tax-exemption.
