Keeping in view the positive results yielded by his visit to the USA and Canada, the CM would be leading a six-member business delegation to Japan and China from today to 22 to invite foreign direct investment to the state.
The state government is also organising 'Happening Haryana Global Investors' Summit' in Gurgaon on March 7 and 8 to present Haryana as an ideal destination for investment, Khattar said, adding foreigners, NRIs and people from Haryana living abroad will be attending the summit.
On the occasion, Khattar also released a handbook on laws
related to crimes against women and children, authored by IPS officer Himanshu Garg.
Congratulating the officers and personnel, especially the women, Khattar said the women police stations had helped in checking crimes against them, adding that about 25,000 complaints were received at these police stations which was a measure of the "increasing faith" of women in them.
While 1,000 women constables have been recruited in the police department, 1,000 more as well as 100 women SIs would be recruited, said Khattar, adding that efforts were being made to gradually increase the strength of women in the state police force to 33 per cent.
Currently, women account for only about six per cent in the state police and this would soon be increased to 10 per cent, he said.
The Chief Minister said various steps had been taken to strengthen the infrastructure further at the women police stations.
Khattar said the government had a plan to set up 'mahila paramarsh kendras' at every police station to deal with cases of domestic violence, adding that mahila groups would be constituted to resolve the cases through mutual dialogue.
To ensure that women get the advantages of legal aid, a proposal was being considered to appoint one female lawyer at every police station, he said, adding that the government had already made a provision for a financial assistance of Rs three lakh for women victims.
Earlier, calling the moment "historic", DGP KP Singh said this was the first time that Mahila Police Diwas was celebrated in the state.
He said 25,754 complaints of crime against women were registered at the women police stations since their inception and of these, 95 per cent were disposed of.
Similarly, he said 45,175 calls were received at the Women Helpline Number, 170 cases were lodged on the basis of those and appropriate action was taken in 96 per cent of the cases.
