The decision would be effective from January 1, 2014, an official spokesman said here.
He said that the consumer price index is reviewed after every six month in January and July and the minimum wages are determined as per increase or decrease in the Consumer Price Index.
He said the decision to increase the minimum wages would benefit over 11 lakh labourers working in factories, shops, dhabas, small undertakings and brick kilns.
As many as, 7.5 lakh workers were working in about 11,500 large and small scale industries and four lakh people were working in the shops, dhabas and small undertakings.
Similarly, skilled labourers (A) would now get minimum wage of Rs 5,937.10 per month and Rs 228.35 daily and skilled (B) would get Rs 6,067.10 per month and Rs 233.35 daily.
The highly skilled workers would now get minimum wage of Rs 6,197.10 per month and Rs 238.35 daily.
