The Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) Level 3 (PGT) examination held today, has been cancelled in the state on suspicion of paper leak, an official said.
Secretary, Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani, Pankaj Kumar, said the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) Level 3 (PGT) exam has been cancelled in the state and the next date for the examination would be announced soon.
Kumar said today information was received through the Jind district administration that documents related to the question paper were recovered from an "external person while the examination was going on".
He said during the investigation of this information at the Board headquarters at Bhiwani "it was prima facie established that the question paper of the level 3 examination was available with a person in an unauthorised manner before the prescribed time (of exam)".
Four persons, including a woman aspirant, have been detained for questioning in matter, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jorwal said.
A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the matter, Inspector General Anil Rao said.
Kumar said this decision to cancel the exam would have no impact on the Level 1 and 2 examinations scheduled to be held on November 15, and these would be conducted at the predetermined time and venues.
Notably, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had recently directed all the deputy commissioners in the state to make adequate arrangements to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of HTET-2015.
During a video conferencing regarding the preparedness for the successful conduct of the exam, a week ago, Khattar had directed the DCs to take it as a challenge.
A total 4.61 lakh students in the state were to appear in this examination including 1.44 lakh for JBT, 1.81 lakh for TGT and 1.37 lakh for PGT.
