Haryana to spend Rs 22 cr on renovation of tourist complexes

The State government will spend Rs 22 Crore on the renovation of Haryana Tourist Complexes in the 2014-15, an official spokesman said here today.
Besides, the Haryana Tourism Department would pay special attention for promoting Highway Tourism and Pilgrim Tourism in the state, he added.
The officials of the department have been directed to provide the tourists with better services and facilities at all Haryana Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism Nigam Ltd in the state, the spokesman said.
He said that looking at the sanctity and religious importance of Kurukshetra where the divine message of Sri Bhagavad Geeta was delivered by Lord Krishna, Akshardhaam and Tirupati Balaji temple was being constructed which would attract not only pilgrims but also other tourists to visit the holy city.
He said that following the Indian tradition of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' which means that the guest is God, the Department would provide best facilities in all tourist complexes.
The Department officials are exploring the tourism possibilities in Shiv Mandir, Chuhimal Talaab, Shermusa Dargah and Kotla Masjid located in Mewat district.
During the year 2013-14, the Haryana Tourism Department managed a business of Rs 330 crore which is Rs 15 crore higher than the last year, the spokesman said.
There are 42 Tourist Complexes in the state.
