Lawyers had clashed with police yesterday demanding quashing of the FIR against advocate Rupinder Khosla and 19 others for allegedly beating the policeman at the high court recently.
Khosla and other lawyers are accused of beating up a head constable after he had asked Khosla to show his identity card before allowing him entry into the court complex.
Taking cognisance of the incident, the division bench stayed further investigations in the FIR registered against the lawyers and putting the top brass of Chandigarh police and the administration, on notice.
The decision to resume work, however, came with a rider that the General House of the High Court Bar Association will meet again meet on Monday to review the situation.
